'Waldeinsamkeit'
Length: 4'15"
Year: 2023

An old lady feels alienated from modern city life, but when she embarks on a magical dreamlike journey, she finds wonder and a newfound appreciation for the place she lives in. Waldeinsamkeit is an old German word that describes the feeling of spiritual connection one can experience when being alone in a forest.

This is my graduation film for Edinburgh College of Art. I started working on it in September 2022 and finished it in May 2023.

Making of:
Film Stills:
The film is hand-painted with ink and pencil on paper (with exceptions of some digitally drawn effects animation). To capture the images I used Dragonframe. They were then composited together with the ink backgrounds using 3d layers in After Effects. The final edit of the film was done in PremierePro.
